The Marriage Knot 

Every year on Halloween (in many areas of our country) people get very alarmed and worried about their house. They are going to want all the security they can muster up. Many years ago we lived in a community, in a subdivision, where we brought in everything we could around our house except the plants And flowers. We knew that we were going to be visited b y goblins and take what they could. While our neighborhood itself was very nice, it seemed t hat these people were imported from other places and we risked losing anything that was not nailed down.

There areas even to this day in certain parts of our country which are very venerable to violence and destruction.. People do what people can to avoid the loss of anything. The bottom line is that people want security. That is why many put their cars in a garage. That is why people lock their doors at night, etc. etc.

How can you make your home more secure?
Let's look at:

Spiritual Security

In Exodus 12:7 it reads, "The people are to take some of the blood and pout it on the doorposts and above the doors of the house." Vs. 12 "On that night, I will go through the land of Egypt, killing every first-born male both human and animal and punishing all of the gods of Egypt. I am the Lord." In vs. 21: "Moses called for all the leaders of Israel and said to them, 'Each of you is to choose a lamb or a young goat and kill it so that your family concelebrate Passover. Take a sprig of hyssop and dip it in the bowl containing the animal's blood and wipe the blood on the door post and the beam above the door of your house. Not one of you is to leave the house until morning.

When the Lord goes through Egypt to kill the Egyptians, he will see the blood on the beams and the doorposts and will not let the angel of death enter your house and kill you. You and your children must obey these rules that the Lord has promised to give you. You must perform this ritual. And when your children ask you what does this ritual mean?" You will answer, "it is the Passover to honor the Lord because he has passed over the houses of the Israelites in Egypt. He killed the Egyptians but he spared us.'"

In this area of spiritual home security, there are two things that you must do. The first is to apply the blood of Jesus to your home Only you can do this and if you do it, you will be spiritually (soul saved) in your home. If you don't apply the blood of Jesus to your home (that is to say, yourself, spouse and children) you will not be protected. This is according to the Word of God., When the "death angel" comes when you die you will die a death on the other side. By accepting Jesus as your personal savior you have applied the blood upon the door of your heart=-house. You've e let Jesus in so that when the time comes for you, it will not be death to die. Instead you will be ushered into the glories of glories and the heaven of heavens.

If you do not have the blood of Jesus applied to your life, all one can do is pray for you. They, or I can't go and apply the blood of Jesus on your behalf. It has to be individually done. Now, for a visual, let's review what these people were told by Moses.

"You must take the lamb, you must kill this lamb and with this blood of the same lamb, you take it and you take the hyssop and you spread it upon the door on the left and on the right, on the door posts that hold up the beam. You also spread it upon the beam above that door so that the whole casing of that door is smeared with this blood of a sacrifice. The lamb was scarified and with this sacrificial blood placed upon the door post, the death angel will come to your door observe it and go on. If there is not blood the death angel will strike and the first-born human and animal will be claimed.

What God said came true. It's history in the Word of God and it will be history some day for you, if you die without the blood of Jesus being applied to your lives. It is simple. In fact some have said it is simple as A B C. How so? Accept Jesus, Believe in Jesus and then you Confess Jesus.

Now, this doesn't mean all your problems will go away. You might even have more problems, but it means that your soul's condition has been satisfied by the blood of Jesus.

One lady told her pastor, "Don't use that word too much - you know, "blood" - I don't like it. I have a weak stomach and I just can't hear you talking about the blood of Jesus." But I say, if you take away the blood of Jesus, you take away the message of the Gospel. For without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sin.

The second step in Home Security?

Remove All Satanic Influence in Your Home.

You now have, with the blood of Jesus applied to your life, the authority to say, "Satan - out. In the name of Jesus." The Bible says he will flee from you right away because of the name of Jesus which has the power to save you and your soul, has the power to rid your home of satanic influences.

Luke 10:17, "Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through your name."
James 4:7, "Submit yourselves therefore to God, resist the devil and the devil will flee from you."
John 12:31, "Now is the judgment of this world. Now shall the prince of this world be cast out." The prince of this world, of course, is Satan. "And I, Jesus said, "be lifted up from the earth will draw all men unto me." Now is the judgment of this world. Now shall the prince of this world be cast out.

For home security, go into your home and say, "In the name of Jesus, I command every satanic influence be removed." There are certain objects that tend to draw negative influences.

Further, it certainly does not hurt to go each family member - probably after they have gone to seep, and lay your hand on them. Pray for them in the name of Jesus asking that Satan's influence e removed. Go through the house - each room - sanctify that living room for Jesus. Make sure you have a cross somewhere in your home. Make use of a picture of Jesus. There are so many, I call them, "modern expressions" of Jesus. Our favorite one is Jesus smiling. How cool is that?

Now, we are dealing with Home Security. Naturally at first any reader would take it that we are talking about procedure regarding the contact of police officials, dialing 911, having burglar alarms, etc. Certainly all are "right on", however our slant is toward the unseen dimension.

Rituals

In the good sense that children involve themselves. Like, for instance, kids would know what to expect. There would be - I don't really like the word, "ritual" because of a bad connotation, but for lack of a better word - the ritual of prayer before meals. How many have overlooked that one? Prayer at bedtime. A time for devotions.

Now, of course, change is good - actual beneficial. It is necessary for us to grow. If we don't change, we won't grow. On the other hand, we have got to have a certain amount of repetition in our home. We adults are closer to "Old McDonald had a farm" than you would believe. A "moo here and a moo moo there."

It's just the common things that give our children security. And we human beings need, and it is a basic need, for a regular structured predictable framework from which we handle the new experiences of every day. Now our days are different and we have new experiences. We can cope with these experiences if we have the framework that's predictable in our home. This gives us security.
