GOD'S WORD: Luke 10:25-37 (NJK)

Vs. 27: You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, with all your mind and your neighbor as yourself.

Samaritan – had compassion, was a neighbor, showed mercy.
Compassion – strong, powerful emotion.
Mercy – active decision to remove the distress of others.

Love does not consider the worth of a person. Total love for God can empower one to love rightly yourself and your neighbor. Jesus is talking about a devotion as a matter of the heart. This devotion is a matter of developing an intimate relationship with the Living God, learning the warmth of a life that can draw near to the Father's heart.

GOD'S WORD: John 7:38 – "He who believes on me, as the Scripture says, out of the heart will flow rivers of living water."

SHEEP: "believes in me" - is the continuing belief, a faith that rejoices in Christ's divine might and love and depends on him night and day.

It is like water flowing from a reservoir into our home – the connection must be perfect – so the union between us and Christ can not be interrupted. To experience this promise we need one thing – inner attachment to Christ with unreserved surrender to Him for daily fellowship.
