You know, there are many times when I have no one to really go to. Now, I must qualify that statement. I have my dear wife, Nancy; I have some trusted professional friends; I have some close individuals; I even have my grown children whom I love dearly.
But I say, some times I have no one to go to except the Lord. Now, that might sound trite to you, but He is always there.
Abraham Lincoln once said, "I have been driven many times to my knees by the overwhelming conviction that I had nowhere else to go. My own wisdom and that of all about me seemed insufficient for the day."
That, my friend, is where I am coming from. Yet, thousands of years before that quote is this quote from David, King of Israel.
(Psalm 73:25,26)
"Whom have I in heaven but You? and there is none upon earth that I desire beside you. My flesh and my heart fails, but God is the strength of my heart, my portion forever."So, I ask you. Where do you go when you have a problem? When things just do not work out. May I encourage you to do as Abraham Lincoln and King David did - and I might add, as so many others have done. God is always there. When the problems are big - bigger than anything in your life, remember that true life and answers are found in Him.
Lord, bless this dear reader. May they truly know in their gut that you are there to comfort and cheer. True, you are always there when we have no other one else to whom to turn. May we turn to you first.
