Seeing Stars

One of the many things I used to do with my grandchildren when they were really young was to take them outdoors at night and look up at the stars. One by one, through their early years, when we were together, I would say, "Hey ________, do you want to look at the stars tonight?" I enjoy holding them tight. (I am reminded that my Heavenly Father wants to hold me tight, also.)

God is so great! Do you remember the last time you looked up at the heavens and viewed the stars? How many were there?? Albert Einstein suggested that there must be at least ten octillion stars in the universe. How many is that? Well, ten octillion is the figure 10 followed by 27 zeros. Wow. But there is someone greater.

In Psalm 147:4 I read: "He appoints the number of stars, He calls them all by their names." That is a wow and wow. If I were to start giving out names - I would soon run out, i.e. Tom, Dick, Harry, Virginia, Nancy, Helen, etc.

Now, if God knows each star by name, certainly he knows the names of a few billion people. Yes, He knows them all by name. But to make it more personal He knows YOU. He knows your presence - your position - your mind's thought at this very moment. This makes Him more than a Father. It is actually hard (but able through faith) to understand God Almighty has eyes for me..........me! I am not just "out there" I am "with Him".

Prayer:

Heavenly Father,We humbly bow before you - even asking, when we consider the heavens, the stars that you have made, what is man that You should be mindful of him?....even this reader.....at this very minute. Give that special blessing, I humbly pray in the name of Jesus.

Amen
