Many of us have experienced noise from a neighbor. Especially is this true when one lives in a dormitory or an apartment building. Noise from the neighbor can be upsetting.
In college and in graduate school I recall "banging on the wall" several times. I think it worked!! But let me tell you of a lady who experienced a similar problem.
She lived unhappily in a big city apartment building. She objected to the noise the people above her made. Finally after trying many times she was able to move to a different apartment. It was in the same building. But here is the interesting part. Before time came for her to move she was living in the "joy" of getting away from the old place. In her joy she didn't notice the old annoyances.
Wow. Her disposition and her mind was on the new place. When time came for her to move she looked at her old apartment and saw its real advantages. She thought to herself. This is a much better place than that to which I am moving. WHAT HAPPENED?? She looked at the situation with a different mind - it looked good to her. She said, "I don't have to move into a new apartment. All I had to do was to MOVE INTO A NEW MIND."
Well, that is what I want to do, my friend. In all situations that appear "bad" or "negative" to me, I want to MOVE INTO A NEW MIND SET. I am here to tell you that it works. Prov 23:7 (KJV):
"As a man thinks in his heart, so is he." Our attitude does show, huh? I trust that you will stop your ears to the irritations and open your heart and mind to the peace.Lord, I know that the "noise" of the world is loud and can cause confusion. I ask, that this one really changes the frequency of their listening and turn up the volume of your sweet spirit of peace. In the name of Jesus.
Amen
