The Safety of a Dime

Objects:

A Dime
A Clothes brush or hairbrush

_______

Hello boys and girls. It is good to see you this morning. I want to show you a clothes brush. It is pretty brush, huh? Of course, there are different kinds of brushes used for different purposes. You might have used some in the past.

In my other hand I have a dime...just a common dime. Mr. Roosevelt's face is on one side and on the other side. You can see the date, can't you. I want to show you something that I saw many years ago. I do not know where I even saw or read about it, but it got into my mind and I want to share it with you today.

Before I share with you the scripture, I want to put the dime in the palm of my hand. I take the brush and brush it out.....just like this.....oops. Well, let me try it again. (Brush away, even brush different directions.) The dime is not moving, is it? Let's try it another way. No, this dime is just not going to leave the palm of my hand. No matter how hard I try to brush it away. It will not move.

Why don't you try it. Let's have a volunteer. Yes, you....Put the dime in the palm of your hand and here is the brush. Brush it away. It doesn't move does it? Well, boys and girls, just as the dime is safe in the palm of my hand, so you are save in the palm of God's hand.

I read in John 10:29, "My Father who has given them to me is greater than all. No one can snatch them out of my Father's hand." Well, that is a good scripture. Nobody can snatch them out of the Lord's hand. He says so. You are special to God, kids, and God is holding on to you.

Another scripture tells us that we are engraved on the palm of His hand. That means that He certainly knows about us by name. He knows your name, too.

So., remember this kids this week. No matter what happens to you, you are safe in God's hand. No matter what. Just like the dime was safe in the palm of my hand, so are you in God's. Praise the Lord.
