the most unusual small clock available.

________

How many of you boys and girls possess watches? I see some of you are wearing a watch now. You know it certainly is nice to know what time it is, especially if you are leaving for the beach or the mountains, or if you have an appointment.

There are many kinds of time pieces. This one I am holding is considered a "grandfather"
watch. You see, the face is covered - it looks like there are two backs, huh? But when I press this stem, like this, the metal opens and the face appears. That's pretty cool, huh?

This is a regular type alarm clock. Of course, they come in many sizes and shapes and even a variety of faces. Some are animated, by that I mean there is a picture of an animal or person on the face.

Well, watches are important. - "Time marches on" is an expression we sometimes hear and another expression is "time flies". One thing is certain, we can't stop time. I heard a story once of a spider who got inside an alarm clock. Maybe like this one. He was so bothered by the alarm, that he spun a web around the two hands. But, you know what happened? The big minute hand was strong and the tiny strand of the web broke in no time.

Boys and girls, the Bible often speaks of time. In fact, the word "time" is found over 650 times in the King James Version of the Bible.

The Bible says that there is a time for everything. There is a time to laugh, a time to cry, a time to be born and a time to die. Those words are found in the funny sounding book of the Bible, "Ecclesiastes".

In the New Testament book of Hebrews we read that there is a time for judgment. I like to refer to that scripture as God's alarm. So, time is very important. We must not wastes time...we must use it wisely. Some of our time must be used to improve ourselves and some time must be used to improve our soul. We do that when we read the Bible and when we worship the Lord in church.

Paul writes in Romans 13:11, "Now is the time for our salvation."

So, boys and girls, the next time you hear an alarm go off, or the next time you hear the tick tock of a huge clock, or see a watch or any kind of time piece, remember our scripture....there is a time for everything and today is the day/time of salvation. God has not promised us the time to come, but only the time that now is.
