"...I called upon him, but he gave me no answer."
I am sure that you, along with me, and a host of others have prayed and NOT SEEN RESULTS. It is discouraging, to say the least. YET there is something that we are perhaps missing in this quest. To begin with God has given us faith - at times, "great faith"; yet it is true that it has been tried by LONG delays. (Are you with me?)
One stated, "He has suffered his servants' voices to echo in their ears...they have knocked at the golden gate, but it has remained unmovable, as though it were rusted upon its hinges." I read in Jeremiah, "You have covered yourself with a cloud, that our prayer should not pass through." I have prayed feverently for situations and seen no results - you have, too.
So, like in the situation you are now in, you continue long in prayer without an answer (you want) believe that it is NOT due to your prayers not being strong or because they were unaccepted. Somehow in the providence of the Lord Almighty He is asking that your patience be exercised.
You know, God can do what he wants - after all, He is GOD!! The bottom line I tell myself and those in my office and congregation, NO PRAYER IS LOST. Our praying is not in vain and there is no such thing as an "unanswered prayer". Sound strange? The things we count as refusals are simply delays which we can't understand in the natural.
Alexander Maclaren said, "Your boat may be covered with waves and He sleeps on, but He will wake up before it sinks. He sleeps, but He never oversleeps; and there are no 'too lates' with Him."
My prayer for you, my friend
Lord we will purpose in our heart to pray and keep on praying and then pray some more because you are a God who hears. You love this one and you are very concern with what is happening to them. I ask, in the name of Jesus, that you bless this one especially - - in this hour.
Amen
