Words for Courageous Living

July 20th

How Do You See Things?

Probably everyone in their life time has put a stick in water. When that straight stick was placed in the water - whether in a lake, or swimming area where the water was clear - even in a large pan in the kitchen sink if the conditions were right, the unique happening was the straight sick appeared to be crooked

.

Why? Because you were looking at the stick through two mediums. What are they? Air and water.

Now the proceedings of God are very straight. In His justice they are straight without the least bend, BUT to us they seem to be crooked.

Example. That wicked men should prosper and good men be afflicted. That the Israelites should make the bricks and the Egyptians live in houses. Things like this makes the best Christian stagger in judgment. Why?? Because we are looking upon God's dealings through two mediums. What are they? Namely, flesh and spirit. Consequently things seem to go crooked, when in fact they are right.

It is the way we look at things. Even the things that happen to us personally. If only we could come to the place when we look at a happening through the eyes of God instead of our earthly/limited vision. The difference is found in 1 Samuel 16:7:

"For the Lord does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart."

My prayer for you!

God, please give us the desire (and success) in viewing our situation that seems "crooked" to us through your eyes. You do all things right. I ask that you bless this one at this time in a real special way. In the name of Jesus.

Amen
