Words for Courageous Living

I So Believe What You Say

Sometimes I find myself really occupied with a particular situation instead of letting God carry my load. I think that most, many of the times, are governed by the circumstances.

In some circles the name CHARLES SPURGEON is well known. He was an outstanding, anointed pastor who lived and ministered in the late 1800's in England. He died in 1892, I believe. Well, I have run across an article that I wish to pass on to you. Since it is not original, I say that it comes from his pen, not mine.

"In the present day there are those who live intermittent Christian lives because they have become occupied with the outward, and center in circumstances, in place of centering in God. God wants us more and more to see Him in everything, and to call nothing small if it bears us His message." "We read, about the children of Israel, 'THEN they believed his words.' They did not believe till AFTER they saw - when they saw Him work, then they believed. They really doubted God when they came to the Red Sea, but when God opened the way and led them across and they SAW Pharaoh and his host drowned -'then they believed.'" "This led an up and down life because of this kind of faith; it was a faith that depended upon circumstances."

Well, my friend, you have heard the statement, "seeing is believing" but I say unto you, faith is to believe what we do not see. In a present situation where you are up against it, like those were at the Red Sea, excercise your faith and "go forward" in the name Jesus.

Let it not be said of you (as in Psa. 106:12-15), "Then believed they His words." Lets do it now.

Let's pray

Lord, with the "Red Sea" before this one and "mountains" on the left and right and the "enemy" closing in behind, I ask that this on-line reader speak into being by faith (according to your will) that which they do not see. May they believe in you NOW - this very moment.

Amen
