Words for Courageous Living

Faith Flight

Have you ever watched certain kind of flies flying around and seemingly on water? Maybe in the real or on t.v.? I have and I have not paid much attention to them UNTIL I read about certain flies that fly around and on water. Here is what I discovered:

It seems that it appears that the flies have come to take a bath. HOWEVER, as they put their tiny bodies in the water they kept their wings high above water. They "swim" a little and then fly away.

So, here is the lesson for me. (Probably you, also!) In this world we live in we often get immersed in the cares of it and the affairs of it. My friend, we have got to keep our "spiritual wings" of our soul above the cares of this world. That includes the difficulties that we go through. You may, at this very moment, be going through some deep waters of afflictions, or worry or heartache or disappointment. My word to you is keep above it by taking a faith flight above. We just can't let our wings get wet.

So, how does one do it? Well, it is not as simple as it seems or simple as it is to write about. But what I have found is a fine line exists between the water of my trouble and the air of my freedom. If we stop "flapping our faith", we will sink into the world's way.

1 John 5:4 "This is the victory that has overcome the world (for us I'll say "water") even our faith."

My prayer for you, my friend

Lord, I ask that this one be encouraged to keep their spiritual wings dry by not immersing them in the waters of worry or fretting. May they truly live in the victory. Remind them that that scripture goes on to say, "Who is it that overcomes the world? Only he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God." In His name we pray.

Amen
