Words for Courageous Living

Blind Trust

From Wisconsin came the story of a blind doe. The account being, a man was walking through the woods of north Wisconsin and suddenly he came face to face with a doe. Now, even though the doe could smell him, the doe did not run away, but stood still glaring...remember she can't see. The man then realized that the poor animal was blind. Both stood at attention. Then, suddenly, coming from a thicker area was a magnificant buck. As quick as a flash the buck ran up, the doe turned and then together they fled to safety. The doe just ran as close behind "her leader" as she could.

You see, the buck saw the danger and came to her. And she put her whole trust in him and ran fast, not knowing where she was going. I like that! The bottom line is she followed blindly.

There have been so many times when I could not see - though I had 20/20 vision. I could not see my way through a difficult situation. I could not see which way to go. I could not see the future - not even tomorrow.

This is when I needed to trust the Lord He runs to my rescue. He sees the danger I am in....and all He wants from me is to trust him, like the doe. His eyes see in the tomorrows of my life. How? Because He is already there. Trust!! I like the words in Psalm 56:3

"When I am afraid, I will trust in you."

The next verse says, "In God, whose word I praise, in God I trust; I will not be afraid." This is the word of God for you, my friend.

Prayer

I am so grateful, Lord, that you can see what is best for this one. Amid the darkness of perhaps a bad experience, may they reach out - TOUCH - and be led by You. Like one sitting in the passesnger seat of a car. They can close their eyes while the driver pays attention. Thank you, Lord, for paying attention to this dear one.

Amen
