Words for Courageous Living

Seeds Planted In Our Mind

So I am walking through a grove of trees up at a lake and all of a sudden something hit my head. Whatever it was then rolls off my head and falls to the ground. Well, like anyone else, I paused to see what the invader was. IT WAS A VERY LARGE ACORN. So I pitched it aside toward the lake.

I then thought about the many acorns that have fallen, been kicked about, or picked up by a bird and placed somewhere else. In the course of time some of them have taken root and become a tree. Wow, such a big tree from such a small acorn. So it is with seeds that get planted in our mind.

Let me suggest two. One is that Spirit of God that enters you through faith in Jesus. It is much like the small seed that fell in our yard that developed into an oak tree. I myself had nothing to do with the planting, but now we enjoy the tree. You see God has planted a promise in you, my friend to do many things. One being to grow into His likeness.

The second aspect: There are certain goals that one has in their mind. These goals must not be dismissed or crushed (as one would step on a fallen acorn) but allowed to grow.

I like the scripture that says in 1 John 3:2

"It does not yet appear what we shall be."

Praise the Lord that the hope within you can come to a fulfillment. Hold on to the promises of God even through a difficult situation.

Let's pray

There is an old saying, "You can count the seeds in an apple, but you can't count the number of apples in a seed" - may this reader realize the potential that is theirs in Christ Jesus. Yes, they can do all things through Christ which gives them the strength. May they hold on to that dream and not throw it away. I ask that encouragement be theirs right now, right where they are in the name of Jesus.

Amen
