Words for Courageous Living

June 2nd

This Color, That Color

I was taking the garbage out and as I turned around the back corner of the house where the garbage can was there I saw it! What? A lizard. Apparently we both were startled by each other - but being much bigger I continued in my direction. He (?) on the other hand turned and ran under a pile of stacked wood. (He was also minus a tail.) When a boy living in Louisiana I often saw chameleons and would actually see them change their color. They adjust their color by identifying with their surroundings.

The standard joke regarding chameleons is the one who died of frustration trying to adapt itself to a varicolored plaid.

I am wondering if my reader is like one of those little animals. There are those who compromise and lack courage to remain unchanged by the circumstances which might not be so healthy that surround them. A related scripture is in Eph 4:14. "tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of men."

How important it is to stay true to a belief and not be swayed by a friend or acquaintance. I recently spoke with an individual who changes with the belief of the crowd. My friend, you know what is right. You have a goal, a plan, a desire that you feel correct. Hold on to your dream and not be changed by the "winds" of unbelief of another. Be bold. Be courageous. Let the Lord (likened to, among other things, a LION) give you strength and courage.

Prayer

Lord, I ask that this one firmly color their life with that which comes from above. As Jesus did not turn to the left or right, (or change His color) but went straight to the Father's will, may this on-line reader keep their eyes on Jesus, the author and finisher of their faith, in the name of Jesus.

Amen
